1. Smart glass is expensive and not practical.
To evaluate a product, you can't just look at its price, but also see that its value is not worth the price. It is obvious that the special effect of smart switchable glass is not found in other glass. First of all, it is easy to control, can be controlled by remote control, mobile phone, computer, can be well connected with various control systems, intelligently adjust the light transmission. Secondly, it takes up less space and can play the role of curtains, so it is called "electronic curtains". Most importantly, its changing effect is particularly attractive, making it the most popular glass material in high-end interior decoration.
2. Smart glass is easy to break.
Most manufacturers have a one-year warranty on smart switchable glass , leading consumers to think that dimming glass will be bad in a year or a few years. In fact, it is wrong to judge the service life of the dimming glass according to the warranty period. Many home appliances have a warranty period of one year or three years, but it is not that the warranty period will be bad. The service life of the dimming glass is related to the environment. If it is used outdoors for a long time, it will be exposed to sunlight. The ultraviolet rays and heat will age the liquid crystal layer of the dimming glass, and the service life will be greatly reduced. It may be broken in a few years. In an indoor stable environment, it can be used for 15 years or more.
3. Smart glass is not safe.
When the smart switchable glass is used, it needs to be energized. Its working voltage is 60V, so some people think that the voltage is too high and unsafe. In China, according to the specific environmental conditions, the safety voltage value is defined as: 65V in buildings without high risk of electric shock. Therefore, from a legal perspective, dimming glass is a safe product. In addition, the conductive layer of the dimming glass is surrounded by layers of glass and film, and the circuit is not exposed unless the glass is broken. In order to ensure safety, manufacturers usually add a safety insulation protection to make users more comfortable to use.
4. Smart glass installation is more casual.
Smart switchable glass can not be installed casually, and must be installed by professionals in strict accordance with the installation specifications. It is important to pay attention to the following two aspects:
1) It is not possible to directly conduct the test, but to pass the electricity through a special transformer and then to the glass. In particular, glass exported to foreign countries should not be tested with domestic utility power (220V).
2) A special dimming glass sealant must be used. The use of other glass pastes is highly likely to cause corrosion of the dimming glass liquid crystal layer and affect the use.
